Board your motorcoach and begin your narrated drive through Casablanca. Immortalized by Bogart and Bergman, Morocco's largest city is a romantic mix of history and exotic cultures. It contains an important harbor and major business center and seamlessly juxtaposes its ancient history with modern amenities.

Drive along Boulevard Houphet Boigney and note the bustling shops and boutiques. Continue down Avenue Mohammed V, one of the city's largest streets, past the business district. A beautiful coastline road brings you to the historic site of the Allied Conference during World War II, which was attended by President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Your first photo stop is the Habous Quarter, built in the French style. Here, the narrow streets lead to shaded squares. The area makes for wonderful photographs and if you wish, you'll have a brief period of time to explore some of the marketplace offerings. Copper trays, silver teapots, ceramics and bright swatches of fabric are illuminated in the sun. Catch a glimpse of the olive souk tucked into a small courtyard. It's filled with huge barrels of olives, fragrant with herbs, spices and oils. Sample some of the local delicacies and purchase souvenirs.

Nearby, the Mahakma du Pacha, the Islamic law courts, and the official salon of Casablanca's Pacha can be found. Pause to photograph the graceful architecture with strong Moorish elements.

Re-board the motorcoach and drive to the famed Hassan II Mosque for a photo opportunity. Completed in 1993, the mosque combines contemporary technology with traditional Moroccan architecture. The result is a vast mosque that can accommodate 25,000 worshippers in its interior and another 85,000 worshippers outside on the esplanade. Built at the sea's edge, the mosque is designed with Moorish influences and you will see curved arches both inside and out. The mosque boasts the world's tallest minaret, stretching 650 feet in height.

The motorcoach continues to Mohammed V Square, where Casablanca's administrative buildings surround a vast square. The plaza features a large fountain and gardens. Considered to be the city's centerpiece of French design, the square houses a number of buildings designed by French architects. The old police headquarters dates back to 1930 and is topped off with an impressive modernist clock tower; the 1918 post office boasts wonderful archways and decorative mosaics.

At the completion of your exciting day, you may opt to stay in Casablanca for independent sightseeing. You are then responsible for your own return to the ship.
