WHAT YOU WILL VISIT

Cartagena Tapas Tour – According to Spanish lore, the idea for tapas either originated with King Alfonso X, who enjoyed small portions of food with wine between meals or with campesinos who snacked during the long hours working in the fields. Whichever version you believe, these light appetizers are an undeniably authentic Spanish culinary tradition.

During your walking tour, you'll stop at a selection of popular bars and restaurants to sample tapas paired with a glass of sangria, wine or a soft drink.
Offerings may include magro con tomate (pork with tomato), pipirrana (tomato, pepper and onion salad), olives, roasted vegetables, sardinillas en conserva (pickled sardines), patatas bravas (potatoes in spicy tomato sauce), pimientos rellenos (stuffed peppers) or calamares a la romana (battered squid).

There's no more delicious way to sightsee! And as you dine your way through this picturesque city, you'll have a chance to chat with your servers and Cartagena locals, take photos and share your notable dining experiences with fellow foodies.
Roman Theater. After dining, head to the theater! Feel the centuries unfold as you imagine being a theatergoer some 2,000 years ago. Built during the reign of Augustus Caesar, the 288-foot-wide theater once contained an orchestra pit, a stage and terraced seats holding 6,000 spectators.
