Experience the beauty of one of the Riviera's great resort cities. Enjoy a narrated tram ride through the old part of town. Then, visit the medieval hilltop village of St. Paul de Vence and stroll its narrow lanes, exploring its shops and art galleries.
Your adventure begins as you depart from your ship in Cannes, board a motorcoach, and journey to the largest city in the French Riviera, Nice.
Nice adorns the French Riviera like a jewel accents a necklace. It sparkles! Believed to be among the oldest human settlements in all of Europe, it's known for its spectacular natural beauty and mild Mediterranean climate. No wonder it became the winter escape for the English upper classes and an increasing number of aristocratic families in the second half of the 18th century.
You'll arrive in this luxurious city and board a tram for a leisurely hour-long narrated ride through Old Nice. You travel through the narrow streets past the popular flower market.
After capturing the splendor of Nice, you'll re-board your motorcoach and drive to the charming village of St. Paul de Vence.
This quaint, scenic, hilltop fortified village in Provence is filled with art galleries, boutiques and sidewalk cafes. A walk through its winding streets reveals elegant fountains, vine-covered stone walls and statues tucked into nooks. There are breathtaking views of mountains and sea. Even the ground below is attractive as the cobblestones are laid into the shapes of flowers. Lunch will be on your own, so you'll have the chance to sample some of the delicious local cuisine as well as do some shopping before it's time to return to your motorcoach.
Your tour concludes as you enjoy a relaxing ride back, reflecting on your spectacular day as you return to Cannes and your ship.
