WHAT YOU VISIT
Green Island
Renowned as one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of the World," the 37-acre island is surrounded by a coral reef and located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park World Heritage area. To make your day even more enjoyable be sure to wear a bathing suit, change of clothes and bring along a hat, towel, and sunscreen. When you arrive, you'll embark on a glass-bottom boat tour or secure your snorkel equipment for a dive under the cerulean waters. Or you may choose to take a self-guided walk around the island or stroll through the rainforest and observe over 120 species of native plants. If you're looking to get your adrenaline pumping, try parasailing for a bird's eye view of the reef. (Optional activities are an additional expense).
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
If you go for a dive, have an underwater camera handy to capture the brilliantly-colored marine life you'll encounter. Land lubbers may wish to check out Marineland Melanesia, a crocodile habitat and home to a large private collection of exotic Melanesian tribal artifacts and aquariums. Be sure to see Cassius, the world's largest crocodile in captivity.
SNACK
When hunger calls, you'll be treated to a salad roll of your choice: ham and cheese, egg and mayo, or chicken and avocado (choice based on first come / first served basis), seasonal whole fruit, bottle of water or can of soft drink and a packet of chips. If you prefer to purchase lunch or snacks, cafés on the boardwalk accept local currency.
SHOPPING
Browse the shops that line the boardwalk or visit the gift shop in Marineland Melanesia.
