Easy Activity

What you will visit:
Kralendijk (driving tour only):
Kralendijk, which translates to "coral reef," is the petite and colorful capital of Bonaire. The island's original natives were the Arawak Indians, and later periods brought Spanish, English and Dutch colonization to this small but historically significant island. A flamingo-pink color, probably inspired by the island's large flamingo population, is quite popular for homes, while a Dutch-influenced yellow hue can be seen on most of the local monuments and government buildings.
Salt Ponds and Slave Huts (driving tour only)
The southern section of the island is flat with tropical, lush mangroves and salt ponds. After learning from your guide how salt is produced today and how it was mined by slaves in the 19th century, stop at the original huts used by the slaves working in the salt pans and see the cone-shaped white-salt mountains.
Beach Break
There are more than 20 beaches on Bonaire, each with their own personality, all of them beautiful and balmy. The sands on some of the beaches are powdery soft, while others are fringed with crushed shells and corals. The water is crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling. Bring your own equipment and enjoy this pristine, tropical paradise teems with colorful marine life.
What you will see along the way:
Your island drive showcases the unusual landscapes of this small, volcanic island. There is little agriculture on Bonaire, and much of the island is studded with cacti. Bonaire offers visitors a pristine tropical environment with legendarily clear waters and a laid-back, unspoiled atmosphere. Be on the lookout for Bonaire's famous bird, the graceful, pink flamingo.
Photo Opportunity:
Several photo stops are made during your highlight tour. Be sure to have your camera at the ready for
Willemstoren Lighthouse, Bonaire's first lighthouse that was built in 1837.
