What you will visit:
Sapona Snorkeling Adventure
Set out across the clear waters of Bimini aboard a catamaran bound for the SS Sapona, a historic concrete-hulled cargo ship that ran aground during a hurricane in 1926. Resting in about 15 feet of water just off South Bimini, this landmark is accessible only by boat. As you cruise, your guide shares the story behind the wreck before you arrive for a safety briefing and snorkeling. Explore the partially submerged structure, now home to coral and marine life. Swim around and through the remains as tropical fish move through openings, with chances to spot angelfish, stingrays, and sea turtles. This unique site combines history and marine life in one unforgettable experience.
What you will see along the way:
Climb aboard a catamaran for a short cruise out to the famous SS Sapona shipwreck. Bimini reveals its character the moment you leave the dock. Calm, crystal-clear turquoise waters stretch in every direction, often so clear you can glimpse the sandy bottom below. Along the shoreline, you'll pass low-rise, brightly colored buildings, small marinas, and quiet docks that reflect the island's relaxed, old Bahamian charm. Powdery white sand beaches line the coast, contrasting with the vivid blues of the sea. Keep an eye out for seabirds gliding overhead and, at times, marine life moving beneath the surface as you cruise toward the shipwreck.
