WHAT YOU VISIT
Glenshane Country Farm
This working sheep farm, owned by fourth generation sheep farmer Jamese McCloy, offers a fun and immersive experience with the farm's sheep. Perched on scenic Glenshane Pass, the farm overlooks a bucolic landscape of farms, rolling Sperrin Hills and Slemish Mountain, where St. Patrick shepherded as a young man 1,500 years ago. Here, you'll walk the verdant fields and learn first-hand a centuries-old skill as you help Jamese direct his highly trained working dogs to herd a flock of sheep.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
The idyllic countryside that envelops Glenshane Country Farm is definitely photogenic.  The patchwork of verdant farms set against a backdrop of mist-covered hills may rival the working sheepdogs and playful sheep.

LUNCH
After you've worked up an appetite, you'll be treated to lunch at Friels, a fifth generation Irish bar and restaurant nestled in the heart of the South Derry countryside in the picturesque village of Swatragh. Established in 1835, the family run, award winning pub, has served as a coaching inn, hotel, and post office. Hear local folklore about poet, traveler and adventurer Mick McAtamney as you feast on Friels famous homemade beef and Guinness pie (slow cooked Irish rump steak pieces with onions and button mushrooms and puff pastry lid), served with champ (mashed potatoes with scallions, butter, and milk and pea purée); or pan seared chicken served on a bed of mashed potatoes with lardon and leek sauce. Your choice for dessert includes homemade apple crumble served with hot custard and fresh cream or Friels special jam and coconut sponge served with steaming hot custard. Each accompanied by one drink of choice (beer or soft drink) including tea/coffee.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Your coach will ramble its way along country roads to Glenshane Country Farm such as scenic Glenshane Pass, one of the highest mountain roads in Ireland and from here you can see Slieve Gallion, the Mournes and Slemish Mountain.
