WHAT YOU VISIT
Podgorica
Situated at the intersection of five rivers, Podgorica was made the country's capital in 2006. Your visit begins in Old Town, a network of narrow, winding streets that stand as a testament to the Ottomans who captured the city in the 15th century. Dotted with ancient mosques and traditional stone houses, Sahat Kula (Clock Tower) is one of the few Ottoman landmarks that survived WWII bombing. Nearby sits one of Podgorica's oldest houses-a 17th century building protected as a valuable cultural asset. Continuing on, you'll pass the stone Ribnica Bridge, the modern Millennium Bridge and the National Museum.

Cetinje
Montenegro's capital from 1878 to 1918 boasts the wonderful National Museum of Montenegro, housed in the palatial home of King Nikola Petrovic I, who ruled Montenegro from 1860 to 1918. Marvel at the amazing state apartments and view the collection of royal costumes, furnishings, and documents such as the "Oktoih Prvoglasnik," a revered manuscript that dates back to the late 15th century.
