WHAT YOU VISIT
The Porceleyne Fles
Founded in 1635, De Porceleyne Fles (The Porcelain Jar) is the Netherland's most famous delft factory. Originally created to mimic fine Chinese porcelain, Delft Blue was not made from the typical porcelain clay, but from clay that was coated with a tin glaze after it was fired. Delftware achieved unrivalled popularity, and at its peak, there were 33 factories in Delft. Of all of these factories, the only one remaining today is The Porceleyne Fles. When you arrive, you can watch an artist paint a piece by hand, much like it's been done since its founding in 1653. After a short transfer to town center, you'll take a short guided walk through the narrow streets of this charming city followed by free time for shopping and lunch.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Delft's charming canals, cobbled alleys and houses are perfect photo subjects.
SHOPPING
Following your tour of The Porceleyne Fles, you can shop for Delftware in their gift shop.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
