What you will visit:
Sonador River & Natural Pool Escape
Tucked into Puerto Plata's verdant countryside, the Sonador River is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and a series of naturally formed swimming holes that wind through the tropical landscape. At Finca Papirucho, an eco-tourism retreat set along the riverbank, you'll experience one of the region's favorite freshwater escapes, where lush vegetation, shaded trails, and gently flowing water create a peaceful setting for swimming, wading, and exploring. Water shoes are required, along with a change of clothing, so you can comfortably enjoy your time in and around the river.
What you will see along the way:
Settle into your motorcoach for the 75-minute drive through Puerto Plata's agricultural countryside, gazing out at family farms, grazing cattle, cacao groves, roadside fruit stands, and the distant peaks of the Northern Mountain Range before arriving at the Sonador River.
Lunch:
Following your river adventure, enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch served along the banks of the Sonador River at Finca Papirucho. Savor local favorites including chicken, rice, beans, and a fresh green salad, accompanied by your choice of water or a refreshing soft drink.
