WHAT YOU VISIT
The Path of the Trolls: A Journey through Norway's Mystical Mountains
This spectacular scenic drive takes you along the Trollstigen, steeped in local folklore and overflowing with spellbinding beauty. Marvel at the waterfalls and unique rock formations as your coach travels to Gudbrandsjuvet Gorge. According to 16th century lore, a man named Gudbrand jumped 25 meters (82 feet) over the raging Valldøla River and safely landed on the other side. A photo stop here ensures the river's swirling waters, deep crevices and unique rock formations. This spectacular scenic drive takes you along the Tollstigen plateau that features eleven dramatic hairpin turns. As the coach snakes its way up the mountain, you may see a troll, once believed to roam among the mountain peaks. At the top, step out into the steel and glass viewpoint for pictures of towering waterfalls, deep fjords and lush valleys. Back on the coach, you'll continue on to the tiny hamlet of Valldal, famous for its strawberries and picturesque views of alpine mountains and steep, green hills. Further on in Stordal, we will slowly pass Old Stordal Church, famous for its rose paintings and traditional Norwegian craftsmanship.
