Your half-day excursion begins at the pier where you'll board the glass-bottom Kalgan Queen Riverboat and cruise from Emu Point Landing to the sheltered waters of Oyster Harbour and on the ancient Kalgan River.
This river's estuary has an abundance of wildlife, home to a large population of birds. It is also known for great fishing, as some of the state's largest bream have been caught here. You may even get a chance to catch a sighting of the giant eagle ray, a cousin of the manta ray. The striking, spotted black-and-white ray has been known to grow up to 17 feet in length and weigh upwards of 500 pounds. They are known to leap out of the water on occasion, but are not aggressive.
In addition to the underwater views, your cruise offers stories of Albany's history and colorful commentary on subjects ranging from local birdlife to wildflowers and poetry.
During your cruise, enjoy Billy tea and damper bread, two traditional foods of the land Down Under.
