Board your motorcoach at the pier and we'll take the coastal road, traveling through the fertile farmland of the Fnjoskadalur Valley en route to your first attraction: Godafoss Waterfall.

In the year 1000 the Lawspeaker Thorgeir Thorkelsson made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. After his conversion Thorgeir threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall.

Continue to the Laufas Folk Museum where a traditional, gabled Icelandic farmhouse built of wood, turf and stone resides. Explore a fascinating collection of Icelandic artifacts. The structure typically accommodated the 20 to 30 hands required for farm work. Next to the farmhouse is a small church and rectory house.

Next, you'll head towards Akureyri to the Botanical Garden, which was established in 1912. These lush gardens are home to an impressive collection of flora, with more than 2,000 species. The specimens range from Icelandic natives to plants and trees gathered from all around the world. Stroll the gardens and don't forget to bring your camera, as the photo opportunities are boundless.

Afterwards, you'll re-board the motorcoach and drive to Akureyri for a brief tour of the town, and if time allows you'll stop at a panoramic viewpoint with a view over the harbor before heading back to the ship.
