WHAT YOU VISIT
Forest Lagoon Spa
Tucked in a forest of birch and pine trees, the 1,300 square-meter (13,993 feet) complex offers a variety of blissful amenities including a large pool heated to 37°C (98.6F) with two swim-up bars and a small pool whose temperature is kept around 40°C (104F). Each are heated with all-natural geothermal water sourced from the nearby mountain. Follow that up with a bracing dip in the cold tub where the temp is 11°C (51.8F). Finish with a Finnish sauna where dry heat and low humidity promote relaxation and improves blood circulation.

Covering over 800 hectares (1,976 acres), it was once nothing but farmland until 1950 when the Akureyri Municipal Council began planting trees; today, Kjarnaskogur boasts 15 million trees, making it one of the largest forests in Iceland.

Special Notes
Forest Lagoon has lockers where guests can change clothes. Towels are included; robes are not included but can be rented. Guests must swear swimsuits in the sauna. Children up to 16 years old must be accompanied by a guardian (18 years or older). Guests are required to shower with soap without swimwear before entering the pools. The order of visited sites might vary. The tour operator reserves the right to run this tour in a reverse order if considered necessary, this could be down to local traffic conditions or in order to avoid congestion at the main sites.
