Akita City Folk Performing Arts Heritage Center
Since its opening in 1992, the museum's exhibits have focused on Akita's cultural arts, particularly the Kanto lanterns used in the Akita Kanto Festival. Dating back to the 17th century, the festival is held to pray for a good harvest. Parades include performers carrying over seven-meter-high (26-foot-high) life-sized paper lanterns.

Maiko Performance
Enjoy an elegant Maiko performance showcasing traditional dance, music, and refined movements. Dressed in exquisite kimono, the Maiko offers a rare glimpse into Japan's classical performing arts and centuries-old cultural traditions.
