WHAT YOU VISIT
Archaeological Museum
Founded in 1832, Croatia's second oldest museum features prehistoric displays from the stone age, bronze and iron ages, Roman and Byzantine periods and Middle Ages as well as archaeological remains from the 7th to the 15th centuries, most of which is tied to the material and spiritual heritage of the Croats.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
The Sea Organ, constructed with pipes, produces harmoniously arranged tones as the sea waves create air pressure. Nearby sits the Greeting to the Sun with 300 photo-sensitive glass plates that absorb daylight and transform into a wondrous light show at night.

SNACKS
Refresh with a glass of maraschino, a sweet and aromatic liqueur distilled from Croatia's marasca cherries served with homemade bread, homemade sheep's cheese, a glass of wine and water.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
The excursion begins with a boat ride. Soak up the panoramic views as the captain cruises past Kolovare Beach and docks in city center. Your guided walking tour along the cobblestone streets takes you past the defensive walls that boast Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance architectural designs and the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun monuments. Enjoy outside visits to the remains of the Roman Forum and medieval buildings such as the 9th century Church of St. Donat and 11th century Church of St. Chrysogonus. Along the way, experience the elegance and the grace of the town that dates back to the 9th century B.C. and served as the capital of Dalmatia from the 7th century to the World War I.
