WHAT YOU VISIT
Tromsø Panoramic Drive
Often called the "Gateway to the Arctic," Tromsø once served as the headquarters of seal- and walrus hunters, and the starting point for several Arctic expeditions. Today, Tromsø is a modern city that relishes its rich cultural heritage of past and present. Your coach tour travels through downtown, home to the 19th century Tromsø Cathedral, the only Norwegian Protestant cathedral made of wood. Then, you'll cross the Sandnessund Bridge to Kvaløya Island for a look at Tromsø's most modern suburb. A return to Tromsø Island takes you past the Arctic University of Norway, the world's northernmost university, and over the Tromsø Bridge. On the other side sits the Arctic Cathedral, an innovative design of glass, steel and concrete. View the homes and gardens of those who live in this Arctic paradise before returning to the pier.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Once in your seat, you'll travel past the city's highlights, allowing for photo opportunities from the comfort of your seat.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
From the pier, you'll journey to the center of town, which hosts the highest number of wooden houses in Northern Norway, the oldest dating from 1789.
