Dating back to 1897, Red Onion Saloon operated as one of the finest bordellos in Skagway. Gather in the charming adjacent courtyard for a guided beer tasting. Each pour is paired with a tidbit of Alaska history as tantalizing as the drink itself. Travel through Alaska's most exciting chapters with your guide - from indigenous herbal remedies that inspired early ales, to the legendary night of drinking that helped turn a railroad dream into reality. This experience blends local craft brewing, rich storytelling, and authentic Skagway atmosphere into one unforgettable tasting adventure.
White Pass Scenic Rail
Built during the Klondike Gold Rush, this engineering wonder is an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, an honor shared with the Eiffel Tower, the Panama Canal and the Statue of Liberty. The fully restored cars, pulled by vintage diesel locomotives, climb nearly 3,000 feet over 20 miles of steep grades and around cliff-hanging turns. During the round-trip journey, you'll retrace the original route to the White Pass Summit, passing Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point and Dead Horse Gulch.
