WHAT YOU VISIT
Hovedøya Island
Located just less than 10 minutes by ferry from Oslo, Hovedøya is known as a summer paradise for visitors with plenty of activities. Here, you can explore the ruins of a 12th century monastery, enjoy scenic trails and relax on the island's beautiful beaches. Or discover its military past. Remnants of Norwegian cannon emplacements dating from 1808 and two gunpowder depots remain from when the island was used as a military facility.
Nakholmen Island
Uninhabited three seasons out of the year, Nakholmen is known fondly as a "cottage island" for the nearly 200 private summer cottages that dot the coastline. The southern part of the Island is a nature reserve.
