WHAT YOU VISIT
A Hike up Teneguia Volcano
Designed for a small group, this heart-pumping hike takes you up the 437-meter-high (1,433-feet-high) Teneguia Volcano, a National Monument. Located near the island's southern tip, it's only erupted once-in 1971. But it left a lunar landscape worth exploring. From the pier, you'll travel south to the quiet village of Los Canarios. Perched on warm lava stone slopes, Los Canarios is known for its many award-winning wineries. Here, you'll meet your guide and proceed up the volcano. Along the way, your guide will share how lava oozed its way down Teneguia's slopes into the ocean and the surrounding area including Los Canarios. You'll be amazed at the views of San Antonio Volcano, the small fishing bay and the ocean once you reach the volcano's highest peak. Then, you'll follow the lava stream all the way to the coast to the Fuencaliente Lighthouses.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Set your sights and cameras on this reminder of Mother Nature's fury. Teneguia's black volcanic landscape situated against the blue Atlantic makes an unforgettable shot. And then there are the two Fuencaliente Lighthouses, which stand as a tribute to man-made necessity. The red and white striped 24-meter-high (79-foot-high) working lighthouse was built in 1985; the restored old grey lighthouse, built in 1903 measures 1,812 meters (39 feet) high.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
From the pier, you'll travel south along bustling city streets and into the serene countryside with ocean views to the quiet village of Los Canarios.
