Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
The adventure begins as soon as you board your comfortable, Alaskan-built expedition vessel. Relax in the warm, spacious cabin surrounded by panoramic windows as your experienced captain sails past curious seals resting on floating icebergs.
Endicott Arm, located within the renowned Tracy Arm Fords-Terror Wilderness Area, is a spectacular glacier-carved fjord defined by its towering granite cliffs, turquoise waters, and dramatic, ice-laden landscapes. The area offers a chance to see Alaska's famous wildlife such as bears, mountain goats, and bald eagles and the waters are home to humpback whales and harbor seals.
The extraordinary maneuverability of your custom expedition vessel allows you to venture as close as safely possible to the ever-changing face of Dawes Glacier. From the topside observation decks enjoy unforgettable vistas. You can even see and feel the "white thunder," as immense spires of ice break from the glacier and crash into the sea.
An onboard naturalist provides a wealth of information about the area that John Muir called "one of the most dramatically stunning fjords of southeast Alaska." Enjoy a picnic-style meal and a variety of complimentary snacks and beverages served by your friendly Alaskan crew as you trace the rugged shores of Stephens Passage on the cruise back to Juneau.
Schedule
Special Notes
In the event ice conditions prevent entry into Endicott Arm, the tour will be modified to explore accessible areas of the fjord and focus on wildlife viewing throughout the region. To fully enjoy the outside observation decks, participants are encouraged to bring a warm, rainproof jacket, hat and gloves. This tour is only available on select voyages. Wildlife sightings are frequent but not guaranteed. Dietary accommodations must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.
Meal: Picnic style lunch (sandwich, fruit, chips, dessert) doughnut holes, smoked salmon on crackers, coffee, tea, cocoa, water. Beer, wine, additional snacks, and Alaskan-made retail products are available for purchase. U.S. dollars and credit cards are accepted.
