What you will see along the way:
As you journey through Endicott Arm Fjord, you'll witness one of Alaska's remotest and most pristine landscapes. This 30-mile-long fjord, part of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, was carved by glaciers thousands of years ago, leaving behind towering granite walls that rise to 4,000 feet above sea level. These cliffs, often streaked with iron-rich reds and yellows, tell a geological story millions of years in the making. Dawes Glacier, at the fjord's terminus, is an active tidewater glacier, meaning it regularly calves into the fjord. This glacier moves about 80 feet per year, and each calving event sends thunderous waves echoing through the fjord as chunks of ice-sometimes the size of buildings-crash into the sea. The fjord's waters teem with marine life, while its shores and skies are alive with diverse wildlife.

Special Notes

Guests must be able to navigate a narrow, moderately steep gangway with minimal assistance to board and disembark. This excursion is not suitable for guests with difficulty walking. Strollers are not permitted onboard. If unpredictable ice conditions prevent entry into Endicott Arm, the tour may be adjusted to explore Tracy Arm Fjord, a similarly stunning fjord with a tidewater glacier. Proximity to the glacier face varies based on ice conditions. If access is restricted, the vessel will explore other parts of the fjord, view icebergs, and search the shoreline for wildlife. To fully enjoy the outside observation decks, participants are encouraged to bring warm, rainproof jacket, hat, and gloves. This tour is only available on select voyages - May through early September. Beer, wine, additional snacks, and Alaska-made retail products are available for purchase. U.S. dollars and credit cards are accepted. All tour timing is approximate. Outside speakers must remain off when exploring the arm in accordance with Wilderness Best Management Practices.
