WHAT YOU VISIT
Lake Skadar Kayak Adventure
Ideal for first timers and experienced kayakers, this scenic-filled adventure begins when you travel to the small, picturesque village of Virpazar, the portal to Lake Skadar National Park. Once you arrive, you'll be treated to a short introduction and safety briefing, don your life jacket then push off into the tranquil waters. Then, depending on the weather and seasonal conditions, you'll stop at a local beach and slip into the refreshing waters for a swim before returning to Bar.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Lake Skadar hails as the last remaining pelican habitat and the largest bird reservation in Europe so have your camera ready when they make an appearance. The lake is also home to 48 species of fish and 264 species of birds like the rare southern Dalmatian pelican, pygmy cormorant, herons, egrets, falcons and eagles.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Over nine-kilometers-wide, seven-meters-deep and 43 kilometers long, (six-miles-wide, 26-feet-deep and 27-miles-long), the stunning lake is surrounded by dramatic mountains, chestnut-covered hills, and blooming wildflowers. Once the summer residence of the Montenegrin royal family, today it's home to lily-strewn lakeshores, monasteries, fishing villages and islands.
