Board your catamaran and cruise to Cíes Nature Preserve in the Ría de Vigo. The preserve was created in 1980; in 2002 it was made part of Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park. The islands are characterized by white-sand beaches, rocky outcrops and mixed forest of oak, fig, eucalyptus and pine. The preserve is also home to the world's largest yellow-footed seagull colony. Your guide will provide you with all the necessary safety and itinerary information while you relax and take in the scenery during your outward cruise. Your destination is Monteagudo Island and Rodas Beach, named the best beach in the world by "The Guardian" newspaper in 2007. Enjoy approximately three hours of free time to swim in the crystalline waters, beachcomb or sunbathe. Alternately, your tour guide will lead an approximately 1.25-mile trek about the island to Alto do Príncipe vantage point, to observe its fauna and flora. Or simply enjoy the free time to explore on your own.

Special Notes:

Wear your swimsuit under your clothes and bring a towel, hat and adequate sun protection.

Bring Euros or credit cards for additional purchases. Currency may be exchanged onboard prior to your excursion.

Sequence of tour events may vary.

There are 7 steps to negotiate in order  to board and disembark the catamaran.

Alto do Príncipe - this optional walk along the trekking path is suggested only for those passengers who are fully fitted to walk. They must wear comfortable flat walking shoes and bring bottled water with them (water may be purchased on the island).

Water temperature on Rodas beach (Cíes Islands) may range between 12ºC to 18ºC in the summer.

Bottled water may be purchased on the catamaran during the boat ride.

Please note the two cafeterias in the islands are open during the summer season only.
