WHAT YOU VISIT
Venice On Your Own
Get to know the Floating City at your own pace with an itinerary you design yourself. You'll transfer by motor launch to St. Mark's Square and then you're on your own. Your escort will advise you of the pick-up time for the return journey. Stroll the Square and discover the spectacular St. Mark's Basilica, one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture in the world, and the spectacular Doge's Palace, whose ornate façade is a classic example of Venetian Gothic architecture. Cruise through the city's winding canals on a gondola with a traditionally clad gondolier at the helm. (Guide service, entrance fees and lunch are not included in the transfer price).

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Everywhere you point your camera around this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one memorable photo after another.

LUNCH
Treat yourself to an authentic Venetian lunch. Though fresh pizza and pasta is popular throughout Italy, Venice is also known for its seafood as the port yields a great deal of crab, sardines, cuttlefish and shrimp. Polenta, or ground cornmeal mush, is often served as a side dish throughout Venice, and risotto (a creamy rice dish) mixed with seafood, vegetables or pork is also available on many menus. If you have a sweet tooth, you can't go wrong with tiramisu.

SHOPPING
The Murano Glass Showroom (located in St. Mark's area), sells authentic glassware made on the island of Murano. Known for its unique beauty since 1291, the shop offers demonstrations of the ancient craft of glass blowing, as well as a collection for purchase.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Departing from your ship, you'll board a water transport for a scenic ride on the Giudecca canal past the Redeemer Church by Palladio and Zitelle Church, which sits on Giudecca Island.

Tour timeline may vary to avoid overcrowding, etc.
