WHAT YOU VISIT
Church of San Sebastiano
Founded in the late 14th century and consecrated in 1562, the sacred San Sebastiano is just one of the many projects meticulously restored by the non-profit group known as Save Venice. As part of the organization's ten-year commitment, the church's interior is also seeing a revival. And you can be a part of the restoration efforts; when you purchase this shore excursion, the tour operator will make a donation to Save Venice, Inc.

Outside, the plain façade adored with a figure of St. Sebastian wounded by arrows gives ways to an elaborately decorated interior by Renaissance artist Paolo Veronese. Marvel at the breathtaking frescoes that line the walls and ceiling as you roam from room to room.

PHOTO OPPORTUNTY
Among the grand works of art inside the church are three large canvas frescoes by Veronese, which narrate the Old Testament story of Esther. A richly gilded wooden ceiling and and decorative figures and motifs provide a worthy backdrop for these priceless works. Another photogenic gem is the bronze bust of Paolo Veronese, which forms part of the artist's tomb alongside the organ.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
After transferring to the Dorsoduro quarter by boat, you'll join your guide for a walk along the narrow paths and passageways to the church.
