Bird watchers and nature lovers alike will appreciate this half-day, guided tour to the Asa Wright Nature Center, a bird sanctuary and conservation center nestled in the northern hills of Trinidad in the spectacular rainforest. The center was founded in 1967 and is world famous among the bird watching and scientific communities. After a scenic, one hour drive, arrive at the center, where you start on a one hour nature walk through the lush tropical forest, enveloped by exotic trees and colorful flowers. Keep a watchful eye out for such exotic birds as toucans, white bearded manikins, and hummingbirds, as well as the graceful and colorful butterflies that live in this unique 200-acre sanctuary. Although wildlife sightings are common, they're not guaranteed.

Special Notes:

Wear long pants and comfortable, low heeled walking shoes. Closed toed shoes are required. This most active excursion is suitable only for passengers in excellent physical condition. Wildlife sightings, while common, are not guaranteed.
