WHAT YOU VISIT
Rotorua Geothermal Exploration by Bicycle
Your informative guide will help to make this a fun and interesting way to visit a very special area of environmental and cultural significance. Your first of many stops includes a visit to a modern-day Maori community then travels along approximately seven miles of bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, boiling waterholes. As you ride behind your guide, watch for the St. Faiths Church, the Tamatekapua Wharenui meeting house, sacred Kuirau Lake, Lake Rotorua, the Maori waka (canoe), Government Gardens, geothermal hot springs, the Malfroy Geysers, the Rotunda, Rachel's Spring, Sulphur Point and the Redwood Forest.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
There'll be lots of photos stops along the way and everywhere you point your camera you'll find one photo-worthy shot after another. One such shot is the St. Faith Anglican Church. Beautifully situated beside Lake Rotorua, the Heritage New Zealand listed building was originally dedicated in 1885 and is acclaimed as the first Christian church in Rotorua.

SNACKS
You'll take a well-deserved break inside the Redwood Forest for for a refreshing snack.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As you pedal your way around the Maori and geothermal sites it's interesting to note that the Te Arawa people have lived on this land for hundreds of years and the peninsula known as Muruika was a burial ground for their ancestors.
