Celebrate the artistic and cultural highlights of Tetouan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your 5.5-hour adventure begins with a scenic 35-mile motorcoach ride to the city, a safe haven for refugees from Andalusia after the fall of Arabian rule in Spain. Upon arrival, visit the outside of the Royal Palace of Tetouan, taking in its wide esplanade, Arab-Islamic architecture and ornate gate, and begin your guided pedestrian tour of the ancient old town (medina). Stroll the labyrinth of tiny streets past the lively souks (markets) and Spanish-Moorish architecture to the Museum Dar Sanaa to admire traditional embroidery, woodwork and textiles.
