Depart from the pier with your guide for a short drive to the Lower Old Town. Along the way pass ancient walls and tower gateways. Arrive at Lower Old Town and follow the twisting cobblestone lanes illuminated by iron street lamps. Witness soaring Gothic spires and enjoy shopping time in medieval Lower Old Town. This is the city's famous Old Town, home to a mix of historic architecture and cutting-edge culture that defines Tallinn.

Built up from the 13th to 19th centuries, this enclosed neighborhood of colorful houses, half-hidden courtyards and churches is the city's biggest tourist draw. The town is dotted with ancient guard towers its streets and shops are full of old world charm.

Leave your motorcoach and walk to the Müürivahe Knitwear Market where locally produced goods can be purchased. If you're an adventurous shopper, get ready for the unique mix of old and new in Catherine's Passage.

Easily the most picturesque of Old Town's lanes, St. Catherine's Passage is a narrow walkway that runs between Vene and Müürivahe streets, along the back of what used to be St. Catherine's Church. This interesting passage is home to the St. Catherine's Guild. You might see glasswork, ceramics, leather goods, quilts and other items being created by using traditional methods before your eyes.

During your time in the markets, shoppers can easily find everything from hand crafted items such as hand-knitted woolen sweaters with traditional Estonian folk patterns, carved wooden beer mugs, and felt hats to original art such as graphic prints, handmade jewelry, colorful glassware or fine ceramics. Also, be sure to sample the dark, bittersweet Estonian chocolate and other local sweets produced by the local confectioners.

Stop in Town Hall Square for views of the Gothic Town Hall and browse the small shops. Later, head to Pikk Street to see the Great Guild and the Holy Spirit Church.

Your final stop is made at Balti jaam market, which is located just within walking distance from the Lower Old Town. The bustling market is a popular place both among locals and visitors, as it introduces more than 300 sellers offering fresh food, Estonian design, antiques and souvenirs.
