WHAT YOU VISIT
Lower Old Town
Noted by UNESCO as an 'exceptionally complete and well-preserved medieval' city, Tallinn's Old Town was built between the 13th and 19th centuries. An intimate neighborhood of colorful houses, half-hidden courtyards, ancient guard towers and well-preserved churches, Old Town exudes old-world charm, and Town Hall Square retains the ambience of its days as the center of the Hanseatic League, trading goods from around the world in its central marketplace.
St. Catherine's Passage
The most picturesque of Old Town's lanes, St. Catherine's Passage is a narrow walkway that runs between Viru and Müürivahe streets. The lane is home to the St. Catherine's Guild, where you can admire glasswork, ceramics and leather goods created by local artisans using traditional methods.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Tallinn's Old Town is home to a treasure trove of medieval architecture and Town Hall Square proves to be one of the city's most photogenic subjects. Among the sites you'll see includes the 615-year-old Town Hall topped with a red clay roof and adorned with water spouts in the shape of dragons.
SNACK
