Design your own adventure during this remarkable tour that takes you to the exciting city of Taipei and leaves all the exploring up to you. This unique full-day excursion kicks off with a picturesque drive from Taiwan's second largest port, Keelung City, to Taipei, the capital of the Republic of China. Along the way, take in the country's lush green hills and in the distance look for the imperial Grand Hotel, which sits high on a hillside on the north side of Taipei.

Eventually, arrive in the bustling city of Taipei, the political, cultural and economic center of Taiwan. Marvel at the endless motorcycles, cars and busses buzzing about on the streets and people streaming along the busy sidewalks. Look up to take in the world's second tallest skyscraper, Taipei 101, which amazes with its blend of high-tech and traditional design elements. With five hours at your disposal, feel free to explore this impressive structure, which features 101 floors above ground, five below and a world-class shopping mall on one side, or make your way through the city to see, do, taste and explore whatever your heart desires.

To view one of the world's largest collections of ancient Chinese objects and art, head to the National Palace Museum whose breathtaking exhibitions span over 8,000 years and four dynasties. Venture to Liberty Square, part of a lush green park covering over two million square feet, to discover Chiang Kai-shek Memorial, which honors the former President of the Republic of China. With its glazed blue tile roof, gold apex, white marble and natural accents, this stately shrine evokes peace, solemnity, sacredness and hospitality. Nearby, see the National Theater and Concert Hall, twin venues built in 1987 that serve as Taiwan's primary performing arts destinations. Explore additional memorials and museums, including the National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the National Taiwan Museum, the oldest museum in the country.

To experience the spiritual side of Taipei, venture to some of the city's awe-inspiring temples such as the ornate Longshan Temple, which was constructed in 1738 and displays Southern Chinese influences in its architecture and details, or Taipei's Confucius Temple, the only one in Taiwan with Fujian-style ceramic adornments.

With the memories you've made on this magical day in mind, rejoin your group at the starting point to enjoy a relaxing return trip to port.
