WHAT YOU VISIT
Magens Bay
Rated by many travel magazines as one of the top ten beaches in the world, Magens Bay is blessed with crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and a spectacular palm fringed coastline. You'll have two hours to cool off and swim or stroll the beach.
Magens-McDougal Estate
Visit several restored colonial manor houses and view the ruins of the old Magens-McDougal Estate, all set on approximately five acres of lush tropical grounds. Relax in the sun and enjoy any of the delightful swimming pools (changing facilities are available).
Blackbeard's Castle
Located in the revitalized Kongens (King's) Quarter Historic Park, the former center of Danish colonial enterprise and the heart of the historic shopping district, the castle was originally built for use as a military watchtower in 1679. According to legend, the fearsome pirate used the tower to spy on ships sitting in Charlotte Amalie harbor.
Hotel 1829
Built in 1829 by a wealthy French sea merchant, the hotel boasts large 300-year old Italian chess pieces on each side of the doorway, hand painted Moroccan glazed tiles from Martinique and a beautiful stained glass Tiffany window. But its most spectacular feature is the Caribbean World Amber Waterfall. Acclaimed as the largest amber waterfall in the world, it falls from a height of two stories and contains over 12,000 amber stones.
