The Hermitage Museum was founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great and is true jewel in the crown of this historic city.
Your full day tour will allow you to fully explore this breath-taking landmark that sits along the Palace Embankment. After meeting your guide, your bus journey will take you through this vibrant city via Vasilievsky Island, to the Palace Square.
Here, your guide will walk you through some of the thousand rooms that house many incredible works of art. Explore the display rooms that showcase paintings by Da Vinci, Rembrandt and Titian to study some of their Oriental, Russian or Prehistoric art, dating from the Palaeolithic to the Iron Ages.
Designed by Rastrelli, the baroque Winter Palace is truly a sight to behold thanks to its richly patterned parquet floors, ornate staircases and gilded ceilings.
After your tour of the Hermitage museum climb back onto the bus for the short journey the the city center to enjoy approximately three hours of free time to explore St. Petersburg. Remember this portion of your tour is non-guided and does not include lunch or entrance fees. At a designated time, meet your tour group to return to your motorcoach for the drive back to the ship.

THIS TOUR IS NOT AVAILABLE TO PASSENGERS EMBARKING OR DISEMBARKING IN ST. PETERSBURG.The Hermitage Museum requires all visitors to pass through security screening. Guests with a pacemaker must carry proof of medical exemption to avoid the screening process without exceptions. Admission will otherwise be denied into the museum.
At a designated time it is obligatory to meet your guide and return to your motorcoach for the drive back to the ship. Please note that according to the Russian Immigration law you can not stay in the city after the tour on your own - unless you possess an individual valid Russian visa in your passport issued before your cruise in your home country OR unless the Russian Federation has a special agreement with your country which give you a right for non-visa entry to Russia.
Large bags, backpacks and flash photography are not allowed inside the Hermitage Museum.
