St. Petersburg
The sheer grandeur of Russia's former imperial capital enthralls visitors with its gilded skyline, historic center laced with canals and graceful bridges, world-renowned museums and magnificent monuments. Perched at the confluence of the Gulf of Finland and the Neva River, the city is dominated by over 2,300 iconic palaces, grand boulevards and treasured landmarks. A treasure trove of art and culture, St. Petersburg has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

What you will see along the way:
Your comprehensive narrated drive includes many of the city's major attractions and landmarks. Although the route is subject to change, the highlights you can expect to see include the Spit of Vasilievsky Island and the impressive Rostral Columns; the Peter and Paul Cathedral, one of the most prominent symbols of St Petersburg; and Decembrists Square and the Bronze Horseman statue. Then, marvel at the awe-inspiring St. Isaac's Cathedral, drive past the Admiralty building and the ornate Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. Continue to airport.

Rostral Columns
The magnificent red stucco pillars of the Rostral Columns are a symbol of St. Petersburg. Soaring over 100 feet in height, these Doric-style pillars, located where the River Neva divides, signify victory. 'Rostra' means the prow of a ship, and magnificent bronze sculptures representing captured enemy vessels bedeck the columns' sides.
St. Isaac's Square and Cathedral
St. Isaac's Cathedral represents 40 years of construction and is the fourth-largest cathedral in the world. Designed by French architect Auguste de Montferrand, the exterior of this neoclassical masterpiece features a total of 112 red granite Corinthian columns, and the interior boasts granite and colored marble from all over the Russian empire. The central dome, plated in gold and decorated with the statues of 12 angels, soars to 300 feet and is topped by a pristine white dove, symbolizing the Holy Spirit.
Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood
The construction of this extravagant church was ordered to honor the great Tsar Alexander II, who was assassinated on the site in 1881. Built in traditional Russian style from Italian limestone and a variety of semiprecious stones, the church took 24 years to construct. Topped by five gorgeous enameled onion domes and boasting 7,500 square feet of elaborate mosaics, the church fell into disrepair but was restored to its original glory after a 27-year effort and was reopened in 1997.

All guests with walking difficulties or wheelchair users are to be accompanied by a friend/companion/relative to assist with entering and exiting the motorcoach.
