Rockland Estate /Emilio Wilson Museum
A traditional plantation house, built in the 1700s, the Emilio Wilson Museum at Rockland Estate offers visitors the opportunity to learn the local tale of Trace Wilson, who was born into slavery on the estate in 1818, and his descendant Emilio Wilson, who purchased the property and converted it to a cultural and educational center aimed at teaching current and future generations about plantation life and the customs and heritage off St. Maarten, "The Friendly Island."
Sky Explorer
The star attraction at the Rockland Estate, this four person aerial chairlift takes visitors on a 25-minute scenic ride up 3,000 feet of cable to one of St. Maarten's highest mountain points, Sentry Hill. From the 1,125 feet vantage point, you're treated to 360-degree views of the whole island, lovely tropical scenery and ocean views. Bring your camera!
The Flying Dutchman
Fly down the mountain at speeds of up to 56 miles per hour on The Flying Dutchman. Not for the faint of heart, this is the world's steepest zip line, so prepare for high speeds up to 56 miles per hour. You'll be attached to a flight line in a secure harnessed chair, launching you on the 1,050-foot drop in elevation over 2,800 feet in length to experience the ride of a lifetime.
Schooner Ride
Surf down the mountainside in a huge inner tube on this thrilling adventure that has you flying through curves and racing along straightaways on a specially designed track.
Canopy Zip Line
Fly high on the Sentry Hill Zip Line over the mountain ridge enjoying the stunning views.
What you will see along the way:
Your 30-minute drive takes in views of the capital city of Marigot, with its colorful colonial houses, pastry shops, sidewalk cafes and quaint boutiques, reminiscent of a lively French market town. Tropical scenery abounds, making it a treat to gaze out your motorcoach window.
