What you will visit:

Philipsburg by Segway®
The Dutch capital of St. Maarten was founded in 1763 by John Philips, a Scottish captain in the Dutch navy. It is guarded by Fort Amsterdam, the first Dutch military outpost, and Fort Willem, built by the British in 1801. Philipsburg soon became a busy port for international trade, and today it's a bustling town with historical buildings, lovely street activity and an abundance of shops and cafés. The boardwalk is almost 50 feet wide and runs the length of the city's Great Bay waterfront. Your eco-friendly Segway® is easy to operate, and you'll travel caravan style, led by a knowledgeable guide.

Great Bay Beach
A stunning stretch of sand and clear blue water makes Great Bay Beach the perfect spot for fun in the sun. Enjoy the beach chairs, umbrellas, Wi-Fi and 10% discount for food and beverages (at your own expense). Take a swim, beachcomb or explore the area; the other side of the boardwalk is lined with colorful shops, hotels and cafés.

What you will see along the way:
Climb aboard your Segway® and take in the sights of Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch side of St. Maarten, which boasts a mile-long commercial district lined with art galleries and boutiques, anchoring this tiny town replete with old-world charm and gingerbread architecture. You'll head to Walter Plantz Square to admire the cooling fountain and one on the island's famous statues. Continue on to the brightly painted Guavaberry rum factory and take in the waterside views from Bobby's Marina. Other highlights may include vibrant Front Street, the restored courthouse, built in 1793, and fine examples of traditional West Indian architecture. You'll conclude on the sands of Great Bay Beach.
