What you will visit:

Sulphur Springs
The Caribbean's only drive-in volcano, Sulphur Springs is the most active geothermal area in the Lesser Antilles. In this vast parkland, with stark, lunar landscapes, guests can walk or drive through the crater past bubbling hot springs, mineral mud pools and sulphur-laden steam.

Diamond Botanical Gardens
One of the natural wonders of St. Lucia, these lush, luxurious six-acre gardens are punctuated with a sparkling waterfall that tumbles through mineral-streaked rocks and thick ferns. A haven for colorful birds and insects, this peaceful retreat welcomes visitors to explore the local flora and fauna and to breathe in the fragrant scent from blooming flowers. Hot mineral waters form a stream that flows through underground pipes into a series of baths at different temperatures. Louis XVI built these baths after the waters were found to have curative properties, fortifying his troops against the St. Lucian climate.

What you will see along the way:

Castries
The capital city of Castries is home to several of St. Lucia's historical sites, such as the stone walls of the La Toc Battery Fort, and the uniquely decorated Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the largest church in the Caribbean. A major fire destroyed much of the city's structures between 1785 and 1948, but gingerbread-style older buildings can still be seen, and touches of French and British architectural influences have survived.

Morne Fortune, the "Hill of Good Luck"
A 17th-century strategic outpost that was a key battleground during the fight for St. Lucia's colonization, this historic fortress sits on the edge of a hilltop, commanding spectacular views of Castries. From this vantage point, you can see north to Pigeon Island or south to the Pitons, and on a clear day, you may even spot Martinique.

Soufriere
Established by the French in 1746, it's the oldest town in St. Lucia and the reputed birthplace of Napoleon's Empress, Josephine de Beauharnais. It is a gateway to many of St. Lucia's natural attractions.

Photo Opportunities:

Pitons
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the most photographed landmark on the island, the Pitons are two volcanic plugs. The larger one is called Gros Piton, the smaller is Petit Piton, and they are connected by the Piton Mitan ridge. Gros Piton rises to 786 meters (2,619 feet) and is the second highest peak on Saint Lucia.

Marigot Bay
Author James Michener called Marigot Bay "the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean." A lush, tranquil yachtsman's haven, it has been used for background shots in many Hollywood films such as "Dr. Doolittle" and "Fire Power".

During your sight-filled day, pause to refresh with a buffet lunch of tasty island delicacies.
