Enjoy a scenic cruise to Haines where you'll join professional sea-kayak guides in a paddling adventure on Chilkoot Lake, one of Alaska's most pristine and treasured places during this 6-hour tour of immense natural beauty.

Your journey begins onboard a high-speed ferry for a 45-minute cruise along North America's longest and deepest fjord to Haines. Enjoy spectacular views and historic commentary as your guide points out marine wildlife - watch for whales!

Enjoy a tour of Fort Seward followed by a water-safety briefing and a thorough introduction to kayaking. Once outfitted in the necessary gear, we'll put in. No previous experience is necessary and expert guides will make everyone quickly at ease.

The stable and silent kayaks make excellent viewing platforms for wildlife. Chilkoot Lake - the setting for your paddling adventure - is home to all five species of Pacific salmon, numerous bald eagles, waterfowl and one of the highest concentrations of brown bears in southeast Alaska. Everyone will enjoy the excitement of kayaking in the midst of towering mountains and spectacular scenery. You may be treated to outstanding bear viewing during the riverside drive to the lake and while on the lake. You'll have approximately 1.5 hours to explore by kayak. The location is chosen to provide the best kayaking and wildlife-viewing conditions and many visitors to Alaska feel there's no better way to fully experience the beauty of Alaska.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 8. Comfortable shoes and layered clothing are recommended. Participants over 6'8" or 300 lbs. may not fit comfortably in kayaks. Triple kayaks are used on this tour. Tide conditions can make ramp to dock very steep, guests with limited mobility not recommended. No expectant mothers past 20 weeks.

Provided: Paddling and rain gear, spray skirt, life jacket, roundtrip ferry ride to Haines

Meal: Sandwich, chips, cookies, coffee, hot cocoa, lemonade, water

Liability waiver is required to be signed in the presence of the tour operator.

Unaccompanied Minor Policy: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
