Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Your adventure begins with a ride through Skagway to the site of the historic Henry Clark Farm, now Jewell Gardens and home of the first certified organic show garden in the United States.
Giant vegetables and flowers taller than you will delight and inspire your own green thumb endeavors. The garden dazzles with hundreds of tulips and lilacs during the early season, with giant delphiniums in midsummer and an abundance of flowers and enormous produce during the fall harvest. Railroad buffs, both young and old, will love the garden railway, a G-Scale model of the White Pass & Yukon Route that winds its way through "Skagwee" and through miniature mountains, forests, tunnels, a waterfall and even a gold mine. The model town looks a lot like Skagway did 100 years ago and the train chugs by a tent city too! Through tunnels and over wooden trestles, this tiny railway is sure to bring a smile to your face!
Next, get ready to watch the creation of hand-blown glass art in the Garden City Glassworks Theater! Watch as inspired glass artists explain the process and demonstrate their skill with dramatic flair. Interact with these outgoing and informative artisans as they magically create pieces of art from molten glass. You'll learn how this exciting project was inspired by the "Gardens & Glass" series of installations by renowned Northwest glass artist Dale Chihuly. The color and organic form of hand-blown glass art is the perfect complement to nature's own dizzying display of color and form in the garden. To finish off this incredible experience we will darken the theater as the glowing glass is shaped into a dynamic piece with a crowd-pleasing conclusion to the "Art by Fire" demonstration. While in the theater you will enjoy freshly made treats prepared by our resident chef utilizing fresh ingredients from the garden along with a refreshing beverage. Then you'll be treated to a guided glass gallery tour of local hand-blown glass.
Enjoy a guided tour of the gardens and and time to browse for souvenirs in the gift shop. You'll re-board your motorcoach for the short but scenic return drive to your ship.
