Scenic Small-Group Cruise
Your captain will narrate as he navigates the covered and heated cabin cruiser around the islands of Sitka Sound. Learn about marine and natural history and enjoy a myriad of wildlife sightings and a smattering of historical structures, including two World War II bunkers along the shores.
Boar's Nest Floathouse
Just 20 minutes from Sitka, but seemingly worlds away, the small, rustic Boar's Nest Floathouse is situated on picturesque Camp Coogan Bay. This privately owned, functional house boat, built in the 1920s during the logging era, is steeped in history. Step back in time when you step inside and learn what it's like to live off the grid in this peaceful bay.
What you will see along the way:
Your captain will steer the vessel through picturesque Sitka Sound, studded with small islands and surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery. Keep an eye out for abundant wildlife, both in the icy waters and along the shoreline, including whales, sea otters, sea lions, porpoises, seals and bald eagles as well as Sitka black-tailed deer and brown bears that make their home among the glacier-carved peaks, secluded passages, and other natural and historic wonders.
