Board your comfortable motorcoach and enjoy a scenic drive to the spectacular Singapore Botanic Gardens, a lush 129-acre oasis blooming with exotic flowers, lush jungle and manicured lawns.

Upon arriving at this beautiful living monument, you'll be greeted by a nature guide who will walk with you through the gardens and impart detailed information on the history of the native flora and its impact. You'll stroll through untouched forests as well as themed specialty gardens.

The National Orchid Garden is the jewel in the crown, displaying the world's largest collection of orchids in full splendor. It houses over 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids of orchids. See the "dignitaries," such as Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela, Laura Bush and Princess Diana in the VIP (Very Important Plants) Garden.

After a break for some sandwich and a refreshing drink, you'll be refreshed to explore again. You'll want to keep your camera handy because the grounds have three lovely lakes as well as a marsh brimming with water lilies. Keep your eyes out for some of the more interesting plants, such as the cannonball tree, named for its heavy, round fruit, and the silk cotton tree, which is the first step in stuffing pillows. Everywhere you look, there is something fascinating.

At the completion of your visit, reboard the motorcoach for a scenic drive to Orchard Road. As for those not interested in shopping, the exquisite modern architecture is a treat in itself. You'll have an hour and a half to explore and to purchase wonderful souvenirs and mementos of your day before returning to the ship.
