Experience the pristine beauty of Vanua Levu during this half-day, extremely active, guided adventure that begins at your pier. Board an island bus and set out through the verdant Fijian landscape. Travel along Cross Island Road which offers stunning views of the glistening coast and lush, rainforest-covered hills.

Your destination is the breathtaking Waisali Rainforest Reserve. Located in the heart of the central highlands, this protected 260-acre park is the last unexploited rainforest on Vanua Levu.

Indulge in a guided nature hike through this mystical rainforest, home to exotic flora and endangered wildlife. As you trek through the diverse lush ferns and dense, sun-dappled "dakua" forest that surrounds you, your friendly and knowledgeable guide will point out the highlights of your walk.

As you journey, keep a keen eye out for the more than 30 species of delicate orchids found in the area. Scan the treetops for the rare Orange Dove, the Red Shining Parrot, the Collard Lory and the Orange-Breasted Myzomela that are among the 21 species of birds that can be found here. Have your cameras at the ready as the reserve is also home to the endangered Fiji Ground Frog and the endemic Fiji Tree Frogs.

Take a break to bask in the tranquil beauty of your surroundings as you enjoy delicious refreshments that include soft drinks and fresh fruit prior to your return walk to your bus.

Transportation is by non-air-conditioned island bus.

We recommend that only passengers who are physically fit and who are comfortable hiking on uneven and lose surfaces, should participate on this tour

Dress conservatively - women's clothing should cover the shoulders and knees.

Wear warm-weather clothing and sturdy walking shoes or hiking boot; trails can be muddy and slippery.
