Get your adrenaline pumping with a cruise around the Saguenay Fjord aboard a Zodiac inflatable boat. To fully enjoy your time out on the water, be sure to dress accordingly. Don't forget your camera because the fjord is home to some of the world's most fascinating marine creatures.

Once you leave the pier, sit back and relax as you travel east through a countryside dotted with rolling hills, verdant valleys, quaint farms, and towns nestled on the shores of the Saguenay River. When you arrive at Saguenay Fjord National Park, you'll meet with your guide for a short safety briefing before stepping inside the Zodiac.

As you make your way across the water, your guide will regale you with ancient tales of this pristine place. According to an Iroquoian legend, the fjord was the way to the "Kingdom of Saguenay," a land of blond men rich with gold and furs. But you'll also learn about the geological development of the Fjord as you glide past the impressive landscapes and towering cliffs of this natural wonder. During your exciting 90-minute tour, you'll no doubt ooh and aah over the high, rugged cliffs and cobalt blue water.

Millions of years in the making, the Saguenay Fjord is a breathtaking reminder of earth's spectacular evolution. Carved by ancient glaciers, the fjord is Quebec's largest and the most southerly fjord in the northern hemisphere. Over 880 feet deep in some places, 65 miles long, and about two miles wide, the fjord is home to 54 species of fish including brook trout, Atlantic salmon, Greenland halibut and Arctic cod…and of course, whales. During your cruise, you may see any one of the four species of whale that frequent the fjord: the blue, fin, minke and Beluga whale just might make an appearance as you paddle.

But they're not the only creatures you may see. Peregrine falcons can be found soaring overhead or nesting on the cliffs and seals might be resting on the nearby rocks trying to catch some sun rays. The woods on each side of the fjord are filled with its own menagerie: wolves, black bears, lynx and moose can be seen making their way through the forest or the fjord's edge.

At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll return to shore where you can view the exhibits at the Interpretation Center or shop in the trendy gift shop for souvenirs for friends and family back home.

Finally, you'll head back to the pier to begin another adventure.
