WHAT YOU VISIT
Cacao Plantation
Following a sightseeing tour of the island, you'll disembark at the plantation where you'll learn all about the cacao plant and the life cycle of this amazing tree. Discover how cacao trees are planted and cared for, as well as how cacao pods are harvested. Then, you'll see how cacao seeds are fermented and dried by natural sunlight. As you move into the facility's work room, you'll roast, grind and create your own exquisite chocolate known in the Nahuatl language as "xocolat." When the chocolate bar is ready, you can savor its exquisite flavor or take it home.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
While waiting for your chocolate bars to set, you'll set off on a guided tour through the botanical gardens, where you'll see Honduran mahogany trees, plus coffee trees, orchids, a variety of herbs and spices, exotic tropical plants and fruit trees.
LUNCH
After the garden tour, enjoy a tropical fruit tasting in the garden. Then savor a delicious traditional Honduran lunch featuring chicken, rice, beans and fried plantains.

On the scenic ride around this tropical paradise to the cocoa plantation, you'll learn a little bit about the island's history and traditions.
