What You Will Visit:

Sólheimajökull Glacier
Extending out from the great M√Ĺrdalsj√∂kull glacier, the S√≥lheimaj√∂kull glacier tongue extends down Iceland's south coast and crawls toward the ocean, surrounded by dramatic rock formations shaped by the glacier's path. It has exhibited repercussions from climate change in recent years and has retreated about a kilometer in the past decade, at the rate of one Olympic pool-length every year. Its movement has formed other-worldly landscapes, crevasses, ridges, cracks and sink holes that can be explored on guided ice walks.

Skógafoss Waterfall
One of Iceland's largest waterfalls, this impressive cascade dumps millions of gallons of glacial melt water into a stream and the ocean beyond.

What you will See Along the Way:
Once outside the city of Reykjavik, travel the south coast past a series of quaint towns and climb over Hellishei√įi, a mountain that offers a magnificent view of the wide plains formed by glacial rivers. Glimpse snow-shrouded Hekla, the country's most active volcano, as well as the ice-capped caldron of the Eyjafjallaj√∂kull volcano, as you journey to your glacier destination.

Photo Opportunity:

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
Thundering into the River Seljalands√°, Seljalandsfoss towers 60 meters high (approx. 200 feet). It is one of the best-known cascades in Iceland, and it is possible to walk behind it capturing the rainbows created from its sunlight spray.

Lunch:
Enjoy lunch near the majestic Skógafoss waterfall.
