Description

Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.

Imagine sinking into delightfully warm water while surrounded by the Arctic tundra and shimmering icebergs floating by. Be sure to bring a lunch, a towel and sunscreen and wear your swimsuit under your clothes. Then begin your half-day adventure with a 1.5-hour boat ride that brings you to Uunartoq, first mentioned in the year 1340 and a destination for Greenlanders and travelers alike for over 1,000 years. Legend has it that Leif Eriksson himself paid a visit to the area prior to his voyages to North America. Boasting consistent temperatures between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius all year, these are Greenland's only swimmable hot springs and are surrounded by outstanding views of the mountains and iceberg-strewn fjords. Enjoy a short walk to the springs and the small hut used for changing (no toilet facilities). Sink into the silky waters and feel your cares melt away as you marvel at the magnificent scenery that surrounds you. Return to the pier by boat.

Special Notes:

Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, biodegradable sunscreen and a hat. There are small changing facilities at the springs. Bring a change of clothing for afterwards. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
