The Original Canopy Tour ® is a truly unique experience, and the perfect adrenaline shot as you soar silently through the awe-inspiring forest canopy suspended on cables and pulleys that make you feel as though you are actually flying, as there is no annoying "zip" sound.

Your breath-taking, adventure begins with a relaxing drive through the wonderful Costa Rican countryside on an air-conditioned transportation. Your guide will point out many sights of interest including mango, sugar, and citrus plantations and rural farming communities. You will be heading to Mahogany Park, a private reserve, less than 1 hour drive from the pier, where some of Costa Rica's last remaining mahogany trees, an endangered hardwood species, are allowed to flourish. There will be a short photo-stop at the top of the hill in the town of Esparza (weather permitting); on a clear day you will be able to look down from the mountains towards the port of Puntarenas, and view your cruise ship in port.

Upon arrival at the park, you will receive an orientation from your friendly expert guides and be fitted with your harness. The Original Canopy Tour ® is located in a stunning jungle area a short walk from the reception center. The experience takes you along ten observation platforms (nine in the trees and one on the ground), and nine horizontal traverses. The trail follows a small stream and wildlife sightings are very common - look out for monkeys and the many species of birds that live in this spectacular environment.

After you have channeled your inner Tarzan, and enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime 'flying' experience through the forest, it's time to head back for the return journey back to port. But what a day to remember!

Special Notes:

This most active excursion is suitable only for passengers in good physical condition. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Bring insect repellent and sun screen in a small backpack or fanny pack. Your hands must be free at all times during the traverses. The minimum age to participate is 5 years old. The maximum weight limit per participant is 270 pounds. A bottle of water is provided. Wildlife sightings, while common, are not guaranteed.
