Tucked in the picturesque rolling mountains of Naranjo, the 640-acre Espiritu Santo Cooperative Coffee Plantation grows high-quality Arabica beans. During your tour of the plantation and processing plant, you'll learn how the organic coffee is grown, cared-for, harvested, and may even see workers picking from the plants or taking care of the final process of preparing and packing the coffee for exporting purposes. After a visit to an authentic replica of a Costa Rican laborer house, you'll learn how cacao was toasted, grinded and turned into delicious chocolate by Costa Rican ancestors. On your return to Puntarenas, you'll stop in the handicraft center of Sarchi, home to the world's largest oxcart. After photos in the main square, you'll visit the Eloy Alfaro Oxcart factory, see artisans at work, browse for mementos, and enjoy fruits and refreshments.
