What you will visit:
Rainforest Adventures Eco-Park/Aerial Tram
Rainforest Adventures Costa Rica, a top adventure destination, offers exhilarating aerial views of the expansive conservation park. Upon arrival at this 222-acre private reserve, climb aboard an open-air, eight-seat gondola suspended from reinforced steel cables that transports passengers effortlessly through the dense, sun-dappled forest canopy for a unique perspective on birds and plants not usually seen from the ground. Take in the incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and the tropical forest right from your seat as your naturalist guide shares his knowledge on all that you see.

Tarcoles River Cruise
Tarcoles River on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica teems with scarlet macaws, Jesus Christ lizards (they can run across water!), and over 120 species of birds. The river is most famous for its crocodiles, some of which are so huge they have names like "Saddam Hussein" and "Mike Tyson." Your pontoon boat will glide through the river's placid water past lush jungle and mangroves. A naturalist guide will point out the animals, birds, plant species and crocodiles that you may encounter.

Costa Rica Animal Rescue Center
This nonprofit organization is tirelessly dedicated to the protection of Costa Rica's endangered wildlife harmed by humans or other life-threatening situations. Abuse, deforestation and abandonment are just some of the causes that can bring monkeys, sloths and other animals to the center. Shelter, food and medical attention offer the animals new opportunities in life with the hope that they will be rehabilitated and released back into the wild. The center, located in the quaint town of Turrucares, relies heavily on compassionate and hard-working volunteers dedicated to caring for these vulnerable creatures.

What you will see along the way:
Marvel at the variation in plant life and scan the trees, alive with hummingbirds, parrots and toucans, on your rainforest canopy tour. Continue on for a boat cruise through the jungles of the Tarcoles River. This estuary shelters mangroves filled with exotic birds, and the shoreline is home to some of the largest crocodile colonies in the region. You'll also enjoy the drive through the countryside to the rescue center located in the classic Costa Rican town of Turrucares, just on the outskirts of San José.

Lunch:
Your excursion includes a traditional lunch served in a picturesque, rainforest setting. You will also be able to engage in a sample tasting of Costa Rican coffee.

Shopping:
Time is allotted for you to explore a variety of local and handmade arts, crafts and Costa Rican souvenirs at the gift shop.

Special Notes:

Tour sequence may vary. Wildlife sightings, while common, are not guaranteed. There are 8 passengers plus a guide in each gondola. Wear comfortable, closed toe walking shoes and bring adequate sun protection. The easy optional guided walk is on a paved and flat trail. But guest could wait for the rest of the group at the cafeteria. Once participants join their tour, they will be required to complete a liability waiver.
